What You'll Need

Step-by-Step

  1. Set up a double boiler (or place a heatproof glass bowl over a pot of simmering water — make sure the bowl doesn't touch the water).
  2. Add 1 tsp Beeswax Pellets to the bowl and melt slowly over low heat, stirring occasionally. Beeswax has the highest melting point of your ingredients, so it goes in first.
  3. Once the beeswax is fully liquid, add 1 tbsp Mango Butter and 1 tbsp Sweet Almond Oil. Stir gently until everything is melted and uniform — about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Remove the bowl from heat. Quickly stir in 1/2 tsp Beetroot Powder until the colour is fully dispersed and there are no lumps. The mixture will be a deep berry-pink.
  5. Add 2 drops Vitamin-E Oil (it's heat-sensitive, so add it last). Stir to combine.
  6. Working quickly before it sets, pour the warm mixture into a clean 15g lip balm pot or small glass jar. Tap the container gently on the counter to release any air bubbles.
  7. Let cool at room temperature for 30 minutes, then refrigerate for 15 minutes to set fully. Do not move the container while it's setting or the surface will be uneven.
  8. To apply: use a fingertip or small brush. Dab onto cheekbones and lips, then blend with the pad of your finger for a natural, dewy flush.
  9. Frequency: Use daily as part of your makeup routine.
  10. Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Shelf life: 6 months. If it ever smells off or separates, discard.

Pro Tips

For deeper color, add more beetroot powder 1/8 tsp at a time. Test color on your inner wrist first. The tint doubles as a lip balm — use on cheeks before lip color settles.
