What You'll Need

Step-by-Step

  1. In a glass or ceramic bowl (avoid metal), combine 2 tbsp Bhringraj Powder, 1 tbsp Amla Powder, 1 tbsp Brahmi Powder, and 1 tbsp Hibiscus Powder. Whisk dry powders together — the mix will be a deep green-brown.
  2. Slowly add plain water or fresh curd (about 4-5 tbsp), stirring continuously, until you have a smooth thick paste — like cake batter.
  3. Cover the bowl with a plate and let it rest for 15 minutes. This activates the herbs and softens the powder texture.
  4. Section your hair (use clips). Apply the paste with fingertips or a hair colouring brush directly onto the scalp first, working from front to back.
  5. Once scalp is fully covered, work the remaining paste through the length and ends of damp (not wet) hair.
  6. Cover with a shower cap or wrap in an old t-shirt. Leave on for 40 minutes — do not let it fully dry on the scalp (mist with water if needed).
  7. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water — herbal masks need extra rinse time. Patient massaging is essential to get all the powder out.
  8. Follow with a mild sulfate-free shampoo if needed (some don't shampoo after — it's optional). Skip conditioner; the herbs already condition.
  9. Frequency: Use once a week for hair fall and scalp health. 4 weeks of consistent use shows visible reduction in shedding.
  10. Storage: Premix the dry powder blend in a glass jar — lasts 3 months. Mix with wet ingredients fresh each use.

Pro Tips

Use curd in winter for extra conditioning; water in summer. Do this once a week for 8-10 weeks for visible thickness improvement.
