What You'll Need

Step-by-Step

  1. In a clean 100ml amber glass bottle, add 2 tbsp Jamaican Black Castor Oil first (it's the thickest). Notice the rich smoky scent — that's the ash-roasted process that gives this oil its potency.
  2. Add 2 tbsp Sweet Almond Oil to balance the heaviness of the castor.
  3. Shake your Rosemary Hair Spray well, then spray 10 sprays directly into the bottle.
  4. Cap tightly and shake vigorously for 60 seconds to fully blend.
  5. Warm the bottle by rubbing between palms for 30 seconds — warm oil penetrates better than cold.
  6. Section your hair. Use the dropper to apply directly to scalp. Massage with fingertips for 5 minutes.
  7. Work the remaining oil through lengths and ends — Jamaican Black Castor is exceptional for sealing split ends.
  8. Cover with a shower cap or warm towel. Leave for 30 minutes minimum, ideally overnight on a satin pillowcase.
  9. Wash out with a sulfate-free shampoo — likely needs 2 washes to fully remove. Follow with conditioner.
  10. Frequency: 1-2 times a week. Best for thickness, strength, and edge regrowth (along the hairline).
  11. Storage: Cool, dark place. Use within 6 months.

Pro Tips

JBCO is thicker than regular castor — a little goes a long way. Perfect for edges and thinning temples.
