What You'll Need

Step-by-Step

  1. In a non-metal bowl, combine 1 tsp Bamboo Activated Charcoal Powder and 1 tbsp Bentonite Clay. Whisk dry powders gently with a wooden spoon — the charcoal is finely ground and easily airborne.
  2. Add 1 tbsp Tea Tree Toner and 1 tsp raw honey. Stir continuously to form a smooth, glossy black paste. The texture should be like ink-coloured cake batter.
  3. Optional: add 1-2 drops geranium essential oil for an extra balancing note.
  4. Apply a thin even layer to cleansed face using a fan brush, focusing on the T-zone (forehead, nose, chin) where pores tend to be larger.
  5. Let it dry for 10-15 minutes — until matte but not cracking. The mask will tighten visibly as it sets.
  6. Rinse with lukewarm water using gentle circular motions to lift the mask off cleanly. The water will run black — this is normal.
  7. Pat dry. Skin will look slightly pink for 30 minutes after — this is increased circulation, not damage.
  8. Apply a light, hydrating moisturizer immediately to rebalance.
  9. Frequency: Once a week for oily/combination skin. Reduce to fortnightly if skin feels tight after.
  10. Storage: Use immediately. Premix the dry powders if needed.

Pro Tips

For stubborn blackheads, steam face for 5 minutes before applying mask. Avoid sensitive skin areas. Follow with a hydrating serum.
