What You'll Need

Step-by-Step

  1. In a glass or ceramic bowl, combine 3 tbsp Hibiscus Powder and 1 tbsp Amla Powder. Whisk dry to combine — the mix will be a deep maroon-brown.
  2. Add 3 tbsp Aloe Vera Gel and stir to begin combining.
  3. Slowly add plain water a tablespoon at a time, stirring continuously, until you reach a smooth, thick paste — like cake batter.
  4. Let the paste rest for 10 minutes — this allows the herbs to fully hydrate and release their actives.
  5. Section your hair. Apply with fingertips first to scalp, working from front to back, then through lengths and ends.
  6. Cover with a shower cap. Leave on for 40 minutes — do not let it fully dry on the scalp.
  7. Rinse with plain water (lukewarm) — this can take 2-3 minutes of patient massaging to fully remove. Follow with a mild sulfate-free shampoo if needed.
  8. Skip conditioner — Hibiscus already conditions naturally.
  9. Frequency: Once a week. Excellent for hair fall, premature greying, and natural shine.
  10. Storage: Premix dry powder blend in a glass jar (lasts 2 months). Mix with wet ingredients fresh each use.

Pro Tips

For grey hair prevention, use 2x a week. Hibiscus may subtly darken lighter hair — won't affect darker hair.
