What You'll Need

Step-by-Step

  1. In a non-metal bowl, combine 1 tbsp Bentonite Clay and 1 tsp Neem Powder. Whisk dry powders together with a wooden spoon (metal deactivates bentonite).
  2. Slowly add 2 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar diluted 1:1 with water (so 1 tbsp ACV + 1 tbsp water), stirring continuously. The clay will start to fizz slightly — this is normal and means it's activating.
  3. Mix into a smooth paste with the consistency of cake frosting. If too thick, add water a few drops at a time.
  4. Apply a generous, even layer to cleansed face using a fan brush or fingertips. Avoid the eye and lip area. Skip if you have very dry skin.
  5. Leave on for 10-15 minutes. As the mask dries, you'll feel a strong pulsating or tightening sensation — this is the clay drawing out impurities.
  6. Do NOT let the mask fully crack or it can micro-tear capillaries. Remove when it looks dry but feels slightly tacky.
  7. Rinse with lukewarm water using gentle circular motions. Skin will look pink immediately after — this is increased circulation and fades within 30 minutes.
  8. Pat dry and apply a hydrating serum and moisturizer. Skip actives (retinol, AHAs) for 24 hours after.
  9. Frequency: Use weekly. Reduce to fortnightly if skin feels sensitive.
  10. Storage: Use immediately. The activated clay loses potency within an hour.

Pro Tips

Metal reacts with bentonite and reduces effectiveness. Do not let this mask fully crack — that's over-drying. Use once a week max; twice on oily skin.
